Loretta Outhwaite

Managing Consultant

About me:

I joined the NHS as a super-enthusiastic trainee management accountant in 1989. Over the next 30 years I worked in multiple NHS provider and commissioning organisations and for the Government of Jersey, in a variety of roles including: finance, contracting, communications and programme management. My last role within the NHS role was as Chief Finance Officer/Deputy Chief Officer for NHS Isle of Wight CCG.

Within my professional life, there are three things I’m passionate about:

  • Best possible value in the delivery of NHS and public services;
  • Compassionate leadership;
  • Developing individuals, teams, managers and leaders.

I have worked as a consultant and interim since 2018, which is when I began to work with 4OC as an associate consultant. I chose to work with 4OC because of their strong social values and the team are inspirational, hard-working, supportive and great fun to be around.

Problem solving (I love a challenge); setting things up; creating order out of chaos; helping people.

Unkindness; poor communication; DIY.

What do you do when you’re not working

Baking cakes; drinking loose leaf tea from my favourite teapot; watching TED Talks; reading; walking my dog on our beautiful Island (the Isle of Wight); volunteering within my local community.
